Preventative care, also known as check-ups or wellness visits, is crucial for avoiding serious health issues. This includes routine wellness exams, health screenings, and vaccinations.
Your insurance does not cover non-preventative services during well child visits. We can address an issue if the schedule allows, but be prepared for deductibles, copays, or coinsurance. For specialized care focused on specific problems like constipation, bedwetting, headaches, and others, we recommend scheduling a separate appointment.
To maintain active patient status at Pirate Pediatrics, it is essential to attend Preventative Care Well Child Visits, following Bright Futures/American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines. Non-compliance with these visits will lead to discharge from the practice.
Not attending a scheduled appointment or failing to provide a 24-business-hour cancellation notice is considered a missed appointment. Arriving 10 minutes late for your appointment is a missed appointment, requiring rescheduling. All missed appointments, including late arrivals, incur fees as specified in our Financial Policy. Two or more missed appointments lead to discharge from the practice.
To prevent disease, Pirate Pediatrics follows the CDC vaccine schedule. Patients are required to adhere to the vaccination schedule.
We prioritize your safety and comfort in our office. Our policies align with guidance from the CDC, American Academy of Pediatrics, and our local health department. Keep in mind these recommendations change, and our office policies will adapt accordingly.
Pirate Pediatrics has a zero-tolerance policy for verbal or physical abuse, threats, harassment, and profanity directed towards our providers and staff, as well as any damage to our property. Additionally, firearms, knives, and any potentially weaponized items are strictly prohibited on our premises. Violations of these policies will lead to immediate dismissal from the practice.
